Agencies and management companies are positioned to advocate meaningfully for this kind of standardization. Firms that submit talent profiles across multiple systems on a regular basis experience the friction of inconsistent taxonomies firsthand and have both the incentive and the industry standing to push for improvement.

In the current environment — before any industry-wide standards take hold — the talent and agencies who invest in data quality are operating with a genuine competitive advantage.
